PACCAR

 

Jacobs worked closely with PACCAR as the global truck manufacturer decided to bring its MX European engine to the North American market. The trademarked Jacobs engine brake is an integrated engine brake solution, which is standard equipment on all engines.

The new engine model continues a longstanding relationship between Jacobs and PACCAR, which began more than 15 years ago, when the two companies collaborated on the launch of the DAF 12.6 liter engine in Europe. For this latest model, Jacobs engineers developed a new consolidated design for ease in maintenance, lower weight and higher retarding horsepower.

The Model 129, which launched in 2010, features a Jacobs Engine Brake with an integrated LM compression-release brake and engine overhead. The engine brake model is standard equipment on all engines, and is fully integrated with engine electronic control and ABS for greater driver control.
