COVID-19 Update from Jacobs Vehicle Systems

March 18, 2020

Dear Valued Customers and Suppliers,

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold across the world, Jacobs is committed to keeping you informed regarding the ongoing steps we are taking to ensure business continuity during this uncertain time.

Jacobs continues to monitor the situation and guidance from the CDC, WHO, and local, state and federal governments. We have established Pandemic Response Teams within our Jacobs facilities and at our Altra corporate level.  Our top priority is to ensure that we are taking appropriate measures to protect the health and safety of our employees.  At the same time, our intention is to maintain the supply of products to our customers. We are working very hard to maintain constant levels of our manufacturing operations through increased virus-related protective efforts.  As part of our business continuity efforts, below are some of the measures we are taking across the company:

  • Non-production-related personnel are working from home to the greatest extent possible to minimize personnel density in our buildings.

  • We have implemented increased personal hygiene and more frequent cleaning processes within our facilities.

  • Break times and lunchtimes for our associates have been staggered to allow for added social distancing, and we have additional cleaning procedures of the break and lunch areas between these times.

  • Our sourcing team continues to work proactively to mitigate any current or potential risks that could impact our global supply chain.  We are working directly with our vendors as well as our logistics providers to help ensure on-time delivery.

  • Our primary means of conducting business meetings is now via phone and/or video conferencing.  This applies to all internal meetings as well as correspondence with customers, vendors and contractors.

  • We have enacted specific travel limitations (domestic and international/intercontinental) which further support this approach toward virtual meetings for the foreseeable future.

  • Vendors and other outside personnel have been limited to those required for production continuity.

We are committed to supporting our customers to the best of our ability as we continue to monitor this rapidly evolving situation very closely.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about how we can safely meet your needs, please contact your business partner within Jacobs. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more and continue to implement measures that will ensure the health and safety of our employees as well as the business continuity for customers.

Thank you,

Jacobs Vehicle Systems
