BLOOMFIELD, CT – Jacobs Vehicle Systems®, the world’s leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engine retarding systems and valve actuation mechanisms, announces the launch of an compression release engine retarder for the Isuzu 6UZ1 heavy duty engine. 

The collaborative effort between Isuzu’s and Jacobs’ engineers resulted in the development of a powerful and reliable compression release brake which enhanced the performance of Isuzu’s engine while reducing the truck’s total cost of ownership. The Isuzu 6UZ1 engine with the Jacobs Engine Brake® is now available in Japan on the GIGA series of heavy duty trucks that employs Isuzu’s next generation D-CORE diesel engines.
